AI Usage & Transparency

Some parts of this website use artificial intelligence to help you find products, customize designs, and answer questions. This page tells you where we use AI, who powers it, what happens to your data, and how you can opt out. This disclosure is required by the EU AI Act (Article 50).
Where we use AI
- AI Chat assistant: answering product questions, recommending items, and helping you draft enquiries.
- ATELIER Chair Studio: generating chair previews from your design choices.
- Suggested follow-up questions and conversation titles inside the chat interface.
AI provider
All AI generation is performed by a single sub-processor; we do not run our own models.
- Service: Google Vertex AI (Gemini)
- Region: Google Cloud — primary region for chat is the EU (global routing may apply); image generation uses us-central1.
- Data Processing Agreement: In place under Google Cloud Terms + Vertex AI Data Processing Addendum.

Training data
Your inputs (text, images, documents) are NOT used to train AI models — neither ours nor Google's. This is contractually guaranteed by the Vertex AI terms.
AI output may be wrong
AI responses are generated automatically and can contain mistakes — incorrect prices, lead times, stock, or technical specifications. Always verify important details with a human sales contact before placing an order.
You are talking to an AI
When you start a chat, the assistant is identified as AI. Generated images carry a visible label and (where supported) an embedded provenance marker.
How long we keep AI conversations
Chat transcripts are stored for up to 24 months. You can request earlier deletion at any time via the Data Rights page.
What not to share
Please do not paste passwords, payment card numbers, government IDs, or sensitive personal data (e.g. health, biometric data) into the chat or configurator. We do not need it for support.
Human escalation
For complex pricing, custom contracts, or any decision that meaningfully affects you, a human sales engineer will take over. You can request a human at any time by writing "talk to a person" in the chat.
Opt out
If you prefer not to use the AI features, you can simply not use the chat / configurator pages, or email us at . You can also restrict or object to AI processing of your data via our Data Rights form.
